ORIGINAL SOUVENIR OF DUBROVNIK
Souvenir, a vaxen model of the vessel Karaka originates from April 2005. It is unique in the world as it is shaped as a candle. The idea was to make something original and special. I wanted to combine a forgotten traditional craft, history, culture, love and contemporary art. Reading a book “IZD. KS. Monastery number 1985” which can be found in the Monastery of Small Friars , it is evident that the candle manufacture has been present in Dubrovnik for a long time. Three burning candles give a special atmosphere thus creating a big ring of lights as a ring of love towards the sea.

Officially I am the fist person who ever used wax – paraffin for manufacture and modeling the vessels. The City of Dubrovnik approved the usage of its emblem which makes a souvenir even more authentic. It is protected in the State Intellectual Property Office in Zagreb. The vessel was publicly presented in cooperation with the m/b Karaka and a tourist agency Dubrovnik Travel. The Dubrovnik Tourist Board applied it for the Tourist Flower Prize  “I love Croatia”, and the souvenir won the second prize in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.
